Sometimes people think that when the weather gets colder than usual they don’t need pool service since they don’t plan on using the pool in the winter months. As in other seasons, in winter the pool needs attention regardless of whether you use it or not. Other factors like garden debris can compromise the pool water balance.
Here in South Florida, there is no need to completely turn off the pool system or drain the pool, as in other parts of the country. You can ask your pool technician to reduce the time that the system runs. In the summer it is recommended that the system is working for eight or more hours, but in winter that time can be reduced in half without compromising the stability of the pool and saving energy and money.
